This is a simple guide that will tell you exacly how to watch Xenogears videos straight of your PlayStation console, using a cheat device such as Gameshark or Action Replay. _________________________________________________________________________________________ CONDITIONS OF USE The author doesn't take ANY responsibility if anything (damage or errors) should accur due to the use of this guide. By using this guide you agree to this condition. __________________________________________________________________________________________ WHAT DO YOU NEED? - PlayStation Console - Gameshark / Action Replay (any cheat device) - US Version of Xenogears - PSone Memory Card __________________________________________________________________________________________ BEFORE YOU START Please take your time. Do everything step by step. Don't skip any steps, or you may have problems latter on. be patient and write codes in carefully. Once you do this once (it will take around 5-10 mins) then it is just a matter of loading a saved game and watching any video you want. So take your time and you shouldn't have any problems. Also note that I have used a "PS Hacker" as my cheat device so some folders and options may be called differently to the once on other cheat devices. But this guide works on all types, and as for the options, you should be able to work you which one im talking about since they are ussually called very similar. __________________________________________________________________________________________ THE GUIDE 1. Insert your Game Shark (cheat device) unit into your console. 2. In your cheat menu create a folder called "Xenogears". 3. Inside that folder create the follwing codes. Save Anywhere 80059170-0100 Debug Mode 8004F34C-0000 4. Now insert Xenogears (whichever CD you want to watch) into the console. 5. Go to SELECT CODES. 6. Then go into the "Xenogears" folder where you created your codes. 7. Highlight (choose) the 2 codes we created (Save Anywhere and Debug Mode) and activate them. 8. START GAME WITH CODES NOTE: The game should load as usual. The SQUARESOFT logo should appear and when you press X you should be in a "Debug Room". You'll know that it is it when you see it. If nothing happened then check if: - you have typed the codes in properly - if you actually activated them - go thought all the previous steps and double check everything 9. When in DEBUG ROOM a window appers and you have to choose between "down" and "something else?". I have no idea what this thing does so just choose "down" since it works for me. 10. Now, press SQUARE on your controller to go to a Xenogears MENU and SAVE your game. You should have your SAVE ANYWHERE code activated as I said before. TIP: If you are using CD1 then you will only be able to watch videos from CD1 with this save. I suggest you do what I did and create a save for each CD (which is pretty obvious thing to do). 11. After you save your game, reset your console and load Xenogears (same disc as the one you used to save in the previous step). But this time DO NOT use any codes. Just load it as if you wanted to play the game. 12. The game loads. Nothing special happens. Now choose continue. 13. Load the file that you saved previously. 14. You should now be back in the Debug Room where you saved your game. Come up to the "mutant" and talk to his with X. 15. From the menu, choose "Saito". 16. This will take you to a new room. OPTIONAL: I recommend you save your game here once again so allow quicker access to this room in future. 17. Now come up to the counter (corner of the counter), near to where Krelian is standing and press X (at the counter) to talk to "Sophia". 18. Menu appears. Choose "musicmode" then 9 and choose 94. This turns the music off. We do this so it doesn't disturb the music from the acctual video. 19. Now quit the music mode by choosing QUIT from the menu. 20. Choose "moviemode". 21. You get a menu. Each number represents a videos. There are 5 pages. Choose any of them to play a video. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Below is a list of all the videos. I got it from the Xenogears Complete Debug Guide by Andrew Dean, which can be downloaded from: http://www.gamefaqs.com or http://xenosaga.fateback.com/other/debug.txt Movie list: (Most movies can be stopped midway by pressing X) PAGE1 ALL THESE FILMS ARE ON DISK 1 1 - Nothing (dosen't seem to work) 2 - Fei watches Grahf/Kahn/Id 'join'. 3 - Kahn and Grahf disagree.. 4 - Weltall transforms into Id's gear and breaks out of the Yggdrasil. 5 - Fei sees Id riding in Weltall at the Lahan Village battle. 6 - Timothy gets wasted. Fei gets angry. Lahan Village gets nuked. 7 - Elly holds Fei at gunpoint in the forest. 8 - Fei's surreal flashback of the caravan of people leaving him in the desert.. PAGE2 ALL THESE FILMS ARE ON DISK 1 1 - Fei asks Grahf "who are you?". 2 - Nothing (dosen't work). 3 - Id destroys Solaris. 4 - Escape capsule launches from the Yggdrasil. 5 - The Intro film. 6 - The Yggdrasil launches Weltall. 7 - The weird grainy film of Fei playing ball with his Mum. PAGE3 ALL THE FILMS NEED DISK 2 1 - Nothing. 2 - Bart destroys the floating base with his 'super dimensional gear'. 3 - Merkava explodes. 4 - Deus expands his 'crispy outer shell'. (Or something.) 5 - End sequence. Fei and Elly run away. 6 - End sequence. The 'path to God' collapses and explodes. 7 - The Xenogears Music Video! Sit back and listen to the unique song 'Stars Of Tears'. BTW, after it appears to finish, leave it alone and you'll see some more films not in the other options. PAGE4 ALL THESE FILMS ARE ON DISK 2 1 - Weltall strolls into Mahanon. 2 - Fei and Elly 'get it on' :). 3 - Merkava cuts a 'swathe of fiery death'. 4 - Elly goes for the 'Goth look' after shooting Fei. 5 - Fei's mum dies horribly. And exceedingly messily, too. 6 - Elly 'soothes the pain' of the Sufal Mass - instead of killing the evil thing like it clearly deserves. 7 - Fei witnesses the creation of Elly. PAGE5 ALL THESE FILMS ARE ON DISK 2 1 - Merkava rises out of the Earth. 2 - Fei playing ball with his mum again. 3 - Film countdown sequence. 4 - Grainy footage of Sophia guiding her ship on a suicidal run. 5 - Bart's super gear thing gets shot at by Merkava. 6 - Bart's ship still takes a pummeling.. 7 - But still manages to get to Merkava. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Hope this guide halped some people.
